I use this in n4 , I love mac cosmetics this was my very first purchase . I first used this alone and it made my skin dry and flakey looking . I now use this with moisturizer , prep and prime, and I use a very light foundation and then I take the 182 buffing brush and put it on in circular motions. I love the complted look. The n4 color is such a perfect match for my skin.
Pros:great for setting my make up Cons:cant use alone
This powder gives a lot of coverage. It's a matte powder that's good
for touching up a bit, but I don't really like to wear this because the
finish doesn't look natural and can be powdery looking.
I love Mac Studiofix in NC15 & NC20. I use NC15 on days i look paler and NC 20 in the summer. These two shades are my perfect color match.
The coverage is enough to cover blemishes and uneven skintone. This powder foundation is great for my oily skin The finish looks flawless and natural. Of the non-MMU's this is one of the best.
Pros:Perfect color match, great coverage, controls oil Cons:price?
Love, love, love-Studiofix is my go to foundation. I use NC30 and it looks natural and gives me a bit of color. I really like the ease of application. When I use other foundations that need a powder over it I feel like it takes to long to do my makeup. With Studiofix it's very easy to apply in the morning.
Pros:Ease of application, price, choice of colors Cons:
I love Studio Fix. I use shades NW43(Winter) and NW45(Summer). I use my 187 brush and lightly blend it into my skin. I don't need heavy coverage so I guess that's why this works so well for me. Lasts all day and hasn't caused any breakouts.
Pros:Separate compartment for the sponge, but I don't use it anyway. Cons:None, will continue to purchase.
I just bought this the other day. I was afraid that it might break me out, but it hasn't yet *knock on wood*. Studio Fix Fluid broke me out really badly.
This foundation has a really nice finish and it covers well. It doesn't last quite as long on my face as I would have liked, but it lasts longer than a lot of my liquid foundations.
It's really easy to apply quickly getting great coverage with the sponge provided.
I won't be wearing this everyday for fear of it making me break out, but I do intend to keep using this and I will buy another when I run out. :)
Pros:Nice finish, ease of use. Cons:Wish it lasted longer on my face.
I like this as a setting powder for my tinted moisturizer. Between the two I get a nice, natural finish without looking made up, or feeling like I have too much on. If you're only looking for light coverage dust this one lightly only or coverage will be too heavy and you will look made up.
Great for summer. I don't like it in the winter though as the finish can make the skin a little dull looking.
Studio fix has been a staple in my makeup routine for six years! I wore this over a liquid foundation as a teenager, but now I wear it on its own for light coverage. I LOVE this foundation - I wear it every day. My boyfriend doesn't even know I wear anything because it looks so natural! Make sure to moisturize before applying. :)
i love the texture and the natual look that this product gives. i use it with a kabuki and it makes my skin look airbrushed. i have had no problems with breakouts or cakiness. this is an overall great product!
I really fell in love with SFF this past summer! I never really liked matte foundations until now. When used with the 187 brush it gives such a flawless, natural look. The color range is great and it is my HG for sure!
Pros:Great flawless look, just the right amount of pigment. Cons:A bit pricey.
My initial experiance with studio fix was not good. It wore off really quickly and turned an orange shade after a couple of hours. I now wear it over the top of another foundation such as studio tech or select spf 15 and I have to say WOW!! My make-up stays picture perfect all day. Will definately re-purchase!!
Pros:Lasts for ages. Brilliant colour match. Portability Cons:Doesn't work as well when used on its own
This is my first review!!! Weeee... lmao. Anyway, I just have to say that I ♥ this powder foundation. Such high quality for the price. It covers well and blends wonderfully with my skin (NC35). It has never ever ever made me breakout, unlike with Motives. It does have some sucky things about it. DO NOT use it on dry skin! Apply moisturizer (then sunscreen!! can't forget the SPF!) first. Also, don't use the sponge because it'll go on way too thick, unless that's what you want. Another thing, don't stuff your face with this because it can get cakey/weird after a few hours. Nothing too fussy, though, you can always fix it easily by blotting or so. Other than that, I actually love this and will definitely buy it again!
Pros:Wonderful, great coverage with a matte finish. Great quality for the price. Never broke ME out. Cons:You need to do some re-touching/fixing after a few hours... (at least in my situation)
Most people seem to break out from this foundation. I have been one of the lucky ones that hasn’t. I
like this foundation because I get the coverage that I need from it. I
also like that I can carry it around with me if I need a touch up along
the day. Even though I am not a fan of sponge
applicators, I still use it but replace it every couple of months or
so. I also like the perforations that the compact has so that the
sponge can breathe and not harbor any bacteria.
This powder is my ultimate HG foundation. I love it so much that I don't even think about trying new foundations no matter how good the reviews are.
I have very sensitive, break out prone skin and this is a miracle for me. It has great coverage but doesn't freak my skin out. The color matches are perfect and they don't turn into a cakey mess when it gets too humid outside.
Totally portable. You must be careful not to apply too much or you will look pastey(contains talc) I use a foundation brush to apply. Many people complain that it causes breakouts. I believe they use the sponge, which should be replaced often.
Pros:Portability, color range Cons:The sponge can harbor germs
I tried this foundation/powder after everyone I know said it's soo fab. Well, what's so fab about it?? After 2 days use I got pimples all over my cheeks and nose!. I have never broken out in this area before. Also it went on kinda blotchy and chalky. Overall BAD! I think this foundation is overrated and not goofd for the skin. The people that I have seen that it doesn't break out have dull and lifeless skin.
I used this for the past 3 years and I kept breaking out. I went to the dermatologist, took all sorts of rx meds. Nothing would stop it! Then earlier this year I started using NARS and I noticed my acne got better. I haven't had ONE breakout since I stopped using MAC going on 3 months now. I never even thought it could be the MAC. Additionally, after a few hours had passed the foundation looked so oily and it would wear off quickly. I can't believe I spent all that time walking around looking like a monster b/c of this makeup.I know it's 'in' now but I wouldn't recommend it to anyone.
When I first tried Studiofixx I thought it was the best thing ever. The shade I used matched my skin perfectly which is usually a problem. Then I started to notice some breakouts and they got worse as time went on. I did not really switch up on my skincare so I figured it was the studiofixx. Then I stopped using it for a while and found that it was the problem. So loved the shade and the finish but hated the breakouts.
Pros:great shades, great finish, long lasting Cons:price, breakouts
